The organisers of one of Europe's most exciting and toughest wilderness adventure racers are looking forward to 2012. Due to injury the winners of the 2010 USARA series, team Odyssey, were unable to travel to Montenegro in 2011, but we hope they will make the journey to check out European adventure racing at its most exhilarating next year.

Previous competitors have commented on the friendly approach of ARMex organisers, whereby everyone has the opportunity to attempt each section. Teams which receive outside help from the organisers cannot post an overall race time, but in a tough event like ARMex we believe that it would be unfair to just leave teams along the route. ARMex 2010 included mountain biking, rafting, kayaking and high ropes sections in some of Montenegro’s most dramatic locations.

 ‘It was really a unique event last year' said Leonidas Athanasopoulos from 2010’s Team Xamos of Greece. ‘Montenegro Challenge 2010 was a perfect race!! Hope one day ... again with same people!!!’

In the meantime Adventure Race Montenegro Coastal Challenge has just seen the completion of the fifth annual one day race with the toughest and longest route to date. Scorching sunshine on the day proved challenging for all involved - not just the racers - but made a change from the rain and storms which has accompanied this race in previous years!
